Economy At A Glance Press Release & Articles
While at the EDC, a regular part of my job was communicating with the media. A key performance indicator for my role was having at least 50 media mentions per year. To garner media attention, I would send a press release to my direct contacts with the local media, publish the release on the EDC website, and through a presswire. The economy at a glance press release garnered a lot of media attention, including two featured articles within the local newspaper.

Local Media Article Results from Press Release
The Grand Forks Herald was the most popular local news source. They are the official news source for notices of the city by vote of the citizens. The reporters, editor, and publisher of the Herald were my most relied-upon contacts to share press releases with. As a result of the press release that was sent above, two articles were published.
PressWire Publishing
To help have a broader reach, I would publish press releases through EIN PressWire, which garnered 250+ media placements through different sites.
EDC Website Release Publishing
All press releases were also cross-posted to the EDC website so help increase search engine traffic and inform stakeholders about what was happening.
EDC Media Mentions Dashboard
I created this dashboard to monitor the Media Mentions for the EDC. Mentions were part of the key performance indicators. I update the data for the dashboard whenever a Google Alert identifies a mention, and compile it into a weekly report for the EDC President & CEO to review.
